Felix and the ropes

As my cousin Felix has chosen me as his confirmation sponsor, I took him on a trip to a village called Damüls for some action in a high rope parcour. My dad and Felix's brother Vicent were joining us. The first few pictures are taken from the restaurant where we had lunch, they show the mountains surrounding Damüls, the church and Felix of course.

Harness and helmets on. Let the fun begin....

The parcour is in a forest. There are different platforms on trees which are connected with diffrent bridge-style things like big tree logs and ropes. There are four parts in different difficult levels for all people and one that is about 15m high for people who dare a bit of a challenge.

On the next pic Vincent is taking a slide with a thing that we call flying fox into the net 1o meters away from the plattform.
Felix is finishing of one of the parcours coming back to the ground with the flying fox.
Here you can see that the plattforms were pretty high up in the trees.
We had lots of fun...not just because of the climbing....

Mountaineering

I could convince Martin's finnish flatmate Petri to accompany me on a nice climbing tour on the Nordkette above Innsbruck. The cable car took us up the top called Hafelekar on 2334m. From there we went on a fixed rope route all the way eastwards crossing several peaks.

The beginning of the route is quite challenging and steep (to frighten the german tourists).

Here we are on the first peak called Seegrubenspitze.

Down there you can see the city Innsbruck and the river which have the city the name.
On these iron ropes you put your carabiners which are attached with laces to the harness. So the walking is secure. The next pic shows the crest which the route follows.
That's the next peak we gotta go to...Some bits are pretty steep, even vertical. It's good to know that you're locked and secured to the iron rope when you look down hundred vertical meters.

This bridge is called the bridge of sigh. It's not long and not that hight, but it's a pretty funny feeling as it is a bit shakey. But Petri is still manageing with bravery.
Here we are on the highest peak of the tour. It is 2400 -something. It has got an amazing 360 view, and the birds up there are nice too.
On the way down you pass flocks of sheep, massive leftovers of winterly snowfields as well as little avalanches you have to cross.

Up there on the top is the route...On the way down we passed Höttinger Alm, a mountain pasture, with animals and a little restaurant. Here we were drinking a nice cool beer and were laughing about the donkey which was pretty tired and was jawning all the time.

From the mountain pasture you can walk down a meadow which is used as a skiing slope in winter. Petri is bringing back the winter feeling with his perfect aerodynamic downhill posture.
Exhausted and with a few blisters on our feet we were arriving savely back in Innsbruck town. But still...nice weather, awesome hike, maginificent views. Yipeeeee
